Important Scholarship Update!

Two changes to mention.

1. In order to give applicants a bit more time to complete their essays, we have deiced to move the entry deadline from May 21, 2012 out to June 18, 2012!

2. Due to some funding issues this year, unfortunately we will need to downgrade our program from two $1,000.00 scholarships to only one. We apologize for this change.

America’s hope is it’s youth!

All is not lost. There is hope for America, and that hope lies in the hands of our youth.  Read this excerpt from the winner  of Theforgottenman.Org, essay contest  (Cleveland Chapter)

“From growing up in a public education system my entire life, I never knew our country was founded on principles of such ageless morality and conviction. As I see times change and different political parties take hold in Congress, I see how far away from pure liberty America has drifted….I now see with ever greater intensity the tighter grip the government is fastening over our lives.” Wow, that is from a high school senior. It is comforting to me to know that as this young lady is off to the liberal bastion of higher education – she will be armed with the TRUTH about the Founding Fathers.  Please make sure that your kids are armed with the same enlightenment. Her essay is evidence of how important the information in The 5000 Year Leap is, and why you and YOUR KIDS must read it.

Scholarship Winner!

Congratulations to Britney Simoncic – winner of the first annual 5000 Year Leap Scholarship, sponsored by the Cleveland Chapter of Theforgottenman.Org. Our judging panel felt that she presented the best essay and the best understanding of the concepts in the book.

We are very proud of her hard work and the thoughtful effort that she put into the project! We wish her the best of luck in her pursuit of  a higher education, and hope that what she learned in The 5000 Year Leap will motivate her to spread the words of the Founding Fathers to her future classmates.  Great job Britney!

Gold Star Contribution!

I would like to thank Geoff and Sally Rapp.  They are the top donors to Theforgottenman’s Cleveland scholarship program!  Their donation is in memory of their son, who lost his life in Iraq defending this great nation.

Thank you Geoff and Sally for your contribution and God bless you and your family, and know that we all are indebted to you and your son for his ultimate sacrifice.

Application update

Here is an updated version of the scholarship application.  We have made some slight changes to it and we have also made a word document version.  We are making a word version available so people can download it and add their groups info, and then print it with that info.  We hope this will help to improve the appearance of the application.  You most certainly can download the PDF version and hand write the info on that version if  you choose.  We have also decided to remove most of the references to Theforgotenman.Org from the application.  We decided to do this after we received some feedback from different high school principles.  They though that referencing a national group on the application, detracted from this being a local scholarship program.
